RECONSTRUCTION

It was reconstructed-renovated in 2019 on the pre-existing houses of my family in order to highlight and revive Ano Messaria with love and respect for tradition. It is a combination of Cycladic architecture with modern elements. Stone and wood dominate as the main building materials used for the construction of the guesthouse and harmonize perfectly with the natural landscape.

Specifically, most of the wooden details used for both construction and decorative purposes are elements of personal collection and processing. A remarkable element that has been preserved from the old house is the traditional wood oven of Dimitrakis which was the largest on the island.

Paths & Activities

Dimitrakis guest house gives the visitor the opportunity to experience moments of relaxation and harmony while gazing at the endless blue and tranquility of Messaria. The guest house offers their visitors the opportunity to discover the well-preserved old paths that formed the old road network of Donoussa as it is a focal point where most of the paths of the island pass through.

The path number two (2) connects the settlement of Messaria with the beach of Kedros. Total length 1,100 meters, with a maximum altitude difference of 150 meters. Easy route especially if you start from Messaria. In the course of the path we recommend for exploration the bypass to the Mines.
