RECONSTRUCTION
Dimitraki grandfather's oven was of particular importance for the settlement of Messaria. It was the action part of the house as it was the "workshop" in which grandfather used to bake the famous "Pavlo" as the locals call his bread and the produced rusk.
Always respecting tradition, the old wood-fired oven has been preserved intact and houses a small folklore museum inside. Its surrounding area has become a completely renovated stone double single room with a kitchen, comfortable bathroom, with a large terrace and of course with a magnificent view of the old mill of Messaria and the deep blue sea. Elements that have been used either structurally or decoratively are part of a personal collection and have their own special history. In particular, the bed in the room is made from the shaft of the old Mill, while the bedside tables are decorated with old millstones. The wooden elements that built the roof of the house date from 1700 AD. while the bathroom trough dates back to 1800 AD. and came from an Ottoman Hammam.
The oven was the pulse of the whole house
the workshop of the family that produced the famous "pavlos" and the rusk of Messaria.
